"TWISTED III"
Ottotool Study X79
Studio Wall Test
3,60m × 4,60m
Berlin, December 2025
Twisted III follows the same principle as Twisted, developing from four offset quarter circles. Here too, the pressure is deliberately reduced throughout the movement, causing the application of paint within the brush paths to continuously shift between density and transparency.
Through this controlled reduction in pressure, the Ottotools create a three-dimensional appearance within a single pass of color. On the dark background, the color palette is noticeably more restrained than in Twisted: carefully balanced shades of yellow and pink give the work a more harmonious and quieter quality. From a distance, however, the characteristic circular movement remains present as a strong, almost rotating form.
