Vigour is a wall work built from circular segments, combining 60° and 120° elements within one composition. The different segment sizes create changing directions and movements, giving the composition a sense of tension and rhythm.
The work is painted on a dark ground, which intensifies the colors and gives the composition a particular depth. The color transitions create another layer of tension, while the chosen color spectrum keeps the overall impression harmonious.
Unlike many of my works, the forms do not overlap here. Each movement remains clearly defined, allowing the tension to emerge primarily from the relationship between geometry, color and direction.
The color system consists of seven nuances, translated into seven brush strokes. The deliberately uneven number creates a subtle rhythmic structure within the composition.
